LOS ANGELES, Ca. - The UC Santa Cruz Men's team earned a close 4-3 victory over the Occidental Tigers Sunday morning. The Slugs started by winning two out of the three doubles sets while both teams went on to win three of the singles matches that took place afterward.

Rocco Melendez made quick work of their competition, winning 6-1. No 2 doubles followed suit for the Slugs as
Radin Sadeghi and Mayur Nookla took their set 6-2. Afterwards in the singles matches No. 1
Radin Sadeghi was able to start things strong for the Slugs, taking his match in two sets, 6-2, 7-5. No. 2 Andrew Tjao was also able to pick up a win with his match going to three sets after he swept the first 6-0 but fell in the second 4-6. Tjao was able to take the last one 6-4. To finish things off for the Slugs, No. 5 Mayur Nookla was able to win his match quickly 6-2, 6-2. This win sealed the deal for the Slugs in what was a close contest as the Tigers picked up 3 singles wins but were ultimately unable to defeat the Slugs.Â
