UC Santa Cruz men's tennis was chosen as an at-large selection for the 2024 NCAA Division III Tennis Championships on Monday.

The Banana Slugs (10-10) will begin postseason play on Friday May 10th when they take on nationally top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. It is a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament and marks the 35th all-time NCAA berth in program history.

"We are thrilled about the opportunity to represent UC Santa Cruz at the national championships," said head coach Ross Pytko. "My first year at UC Santa Cruz has been filled with a lot of great milestones. Seeing our name called for the NCAA tournament was incredibly exciting." 

The Banana Slugs were chosen as one of the three Pool C selections into the tournament, which are berths reserved for independents or teams from non-automatic qualifying conferences. Fellow Coast-To-Coast Conference members Mary Washington and Christopher Newport picked up the other two Pool C spots.
