Talysha Wilkerson broke the tie and gave UC Santa Cruz a 21-20 lead with 8:39 left in the second quarter. The Banana Slugs eventually stretched it to a 36-30 lead at halftime.
Lincoln chipped away the lead in the third, and were within 2 at 46-44 when the fourth quarter began. The Banana Slugs were up 56-51, but the visitors outscored UC Santa Cruz 7-0 over the last 3:17. The Banana Slugs had one final opportunity, but the jumper with no time left missed the mark.
