UC Santa Cruz men's basketball will open a two-week home slate with the UCSC Holiday Tournament.
The Banana Slugs will face Nebraska Wesleyan and Puget Sound this week, with an extra standalone game against the Loggers on Monday December 18th. Chapman University will be the fourth team to participate.
UC Santa Cruz comes into the contest 5-6 after a split in Eastern Washington the weekend before finals.
About Puget Sound
The Loggers from Tacoma are led by Aubrey Shelton, who is in his seventh season as head coach at his alma mater. They enter the week with a 3-4 record after a nine-point win over Northwest Indian College on Saturday. They are led by Liam Rutledge, who averages 15.0 points a game and Taj Phillips, who averages 11.1 points and 6.1 assists.

About Nebraska Wesleyan
The 6-2 Prairie Wolves are coached by ten-year veteran Dale Wellman. Carter Glenn averages 15.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.4 steals, while Peter Lash averages 15.3 points and 6.5 rebounds.
A familiar opponent from the schools' days as independents, this is the first time since 2011 that Nebraska Wesleyan visits Santa Cruz.

The Panthers (6-2) come into the week on a four-game winning streak, including consecutive 100-point games. Blakeley Stoughton leads the team with 15.7 points and 1.7 steals a game. Senior McKelary Robertson averages 13.8 points.
