Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Second half goal by Scott leads Banana Slugs past Chapman

ORANGE- Amanda Scott tallied her fourth goal of the season as UC Santa Cruz women's soccer defeated Chapman 1-0 on Saturday.

UC Santa Cruz improved to 8-2-2 after their seventh win in a row. It was their first win over the Panthers since 2014 and first win in Orange County since 2009.

After an even hour of soccer, Scott scored in the 60th minute for the game's only goal. Camille Anneet's back heel pass sprung Tatiana Fernandez. Fernandez then sent a cross that Chelyn Ackerman redirected to Scott who beat the Chapman goalie for the score.

Chapman had the game's final chance, but goalkeeper Amelia Brown saved the 84th minute shot off a corner kick. Brown finished with two saves to shutout the opposition for the fourth time this season.

UC Santa Cruz finishes the weekend roadtrip with a Sunday morning matchup at Cal Lutheran.
