Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer shuts out Lincoln

Adrian Jacobs, Torin Volkamer and Acer Cristea all scored as UC Santa Cruz defeated Lincoln 3-0 Wednesday afternoon at the Lower East Field.
The Banana Slugs (7-5-1) won their fifth game in a row and swept the season series against Lincoln.

Jacobs scored first in the 16th minute when he brought down  a bouncing ball in a goalmouth scrambled and turned to put the ball past the Lincoln goalkeeper. It was the sophomore's team-high seventh score of the year.

UC Santa Cruz added two more goals in the second half. Volkamer converted in the 70th minute, and Cristea finished off a goal in the 82nd minute from a yard out after deft passing from Luca Bravo and Tyler Allred. UC Santa Cruz had a 27-1 shot advantage in the game. Substitute goalkeeper Declan Fee got a save on Lincoln's only shot of the game with under 23 minutes left.
