NEWBERG, OR - UC Santa Cruz is now 6-7 for the season after an 8-1 loss in the hard fought dual match on Friday against George Fox University (12-5) in Newberg, Oregon. The Banana Slugs are now ranked #35 nationally after George Fox at #16.
Praneet Varade was able to give the team some momentum as he defeated his singles competition at No. 4 1-6, 6-3, 10-2. Both
Andre Mardirossian and
Sam Hall's matches went into a third set with Mardirossian falling at No. 1 3-6, 7-6, 8-10 and Hall 6-2, 3-6, 6-7 (7).
The Banana Slugs finish up their Oregon trip with a match at Pacific in Forest Grove 4pm Saturday.
