SAN RAFAEL - Playing their first dual match in two weeks, UC Santa Cruz took both a singles and double match against Division II Dominican in a 6-1 road loss.
The Penguins took two of three doubles matches, with the Banana Slug No. 3 duo of
Sophia Nguyen and
Julia Chiaradia Azzi taking their match 6-4.
The hosts went 5-1 in singles.
Angelina Powers was the lone UC Santa Cruz player to grab a singles win, with a straight set victory at No. 6. It was her second straight win in dual play this spring.
UC Santa Cruz returns home for their next two matches, beginning on Friday April 15 against Division I sister school UC Davis.
