Amanda Inserra hit a career-high 30 points as UC Santa Cruz never let visiting Lincoln University of Oakland in the game in a 100-58 win on Sunday.
UC Santa Cruz improves to 13-2 with their fifth-straight win. It was the second time in 24 hours UC Santa Cruz scored 100 after hanging 117 on La Verne on Saturday.
The Banana Slugs never trailed in the game. They opened a 21-6 lead in the first six minutes, holding the visitors to just two made shots and forcing 4 turnovers.
The lead was 26-12 after one quarter and 54-23 at halftime thanks to the Banana Slugs shooting 60% from the field (21-35), including 8-18 from three point range.
All thirteen Banana Slugs who suited up got game time and 12 scored. UC Santa Cruz hit 100 with 1:43 left on
Divine Taylor's free throw, which gave her a season-high 10 points.
Inserra shot 12-14 from the field, and was 6-7 from three-point range.
Ashley Kowack added 17 points and
Kaylee Murphy had team-highs of 12 rebounds and six assists.
Namiko Adams had 15 points and six rebounds to lead Lincoln (1-13), who are playing their first season of intercollegiate sports.
Overall UC Santa Cruz shot 57.4% (39-68) from the field, including a season-high 14-32 from three-point territory.
The Banana Slugs head east next weekend for a C2C Tournament preview, starting with a matchup against undefeated Number One ranked Christopher Newport on Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
