Men's basketball drops final game of David Wells Classic

CLAREMONT - 
The Slugs played Claremont Mudd-Scripps as their last game in the David Wells Classic in SoCal this weekend. 
The UC Santa Cruz team is now 3-4 overall after falling to the Stags. 
UC Santa Cruz and Claremont were neck and neck though most of the first half. Both teams basically tied with 4 minutes to go, but Claremont went for a run in the last four minutes ending the first half with a 38-24 lead. Claremont was 87% from the free throw line collecting points off of fouls. 
Both Avri Finch and Zino Okah ended the first half with six points each. Avri Finch with an impressive 8 rebounds as well. 
UC Santa Cruz came out in the second half and played hard with Claremont, but it was not enough to come back and pull out the win. Both teams scored 25 points in the second half closing the game with a 63-49 box score. 
Okah ended the game with 9 points, Finch with 8 points and Calvin Keyes with 5 points. Finch also had 16 rebounds, his season high so far. The senior post is in fact averaging a double double with 10.6 rebounds and 13.6 points. 

The Banana Slugs will be traveling to Whittier to play the Poets this upcoming Saturday.
