Late free throws give Lewis and Clark 65-62 win over UC Santa Cruz

Banana Slugs go to 2-8 on the year

A last second three-pointer from UC Santa Cruz didn't go down as visiting Lewis and Clark escaped from the West Field House with a 65-62 win.

The game featured 14 ties and 13 lead changes.  With 0:28 left and UC Santa Cruz down 63-58, Zino Okah went 2-3 from the line to get within 3. The Banana Slugs then made their pressure pay off when Calvin Keyes stole the ensuing inbounds pass and fed Tyler Kessinger for a layup to get within one.
The Pioneers got two free throws on the other end to set up UC Santa Cruz's last shot, but the Pioneers rebounded the miss to eat up the final second and end the entertaining game.
Avri Finch had his fourth double-double of the season, finishing with game highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds. Ian McCloskey scored 12. Okah finished with five points and three blocks. Simon Mueller-Landsvik dished out 5 assists and is now 13th on the school career charts with 166.
