FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Defender Max Beldner headed home a 100th-minute free kick from Itay Rabinovich as UC Santa Cruz defeated Salisbury 1-0 in overtime in the Coast-To-Coast Conference quarterfinal.
UC Santa Cruz (7-9-2) advances to Friday's Conference semifinal against top-seeded and 24th-ranked Christopher Newport. 

UC Santa Cruz had a 9-5 shot advantage in the contest. The physical game featured 37 combined fouls and five yellow cards, two on the Banana Slugs courtesy of "offsetting" calls. The final was the most fortuitous, as it stopped the clock with 27 seconds left in overtime to set up Rabinovich's free kick that led to the game winner. Wolf Schermerhorn had his fourth shutout of the year as the Banana Slugs controlled possession and did not allow the Sea Gulls a shot on goal.
