TURLOCK (2-26) – The Banana Slugs completed their two match road trip as they took on NCAA Division II #49 Stanislaus State University in Turlock. The Warriors won 6-3 over the Banana Slugs.

Both teams lost their last match. The Banana Slugs are coming off a 8-1 loss to NCAA Division II member Dominican University in San Rafael last Saturday while the Warriors lost 7-2 to Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park yesterday.

The Warriors won four singles matches while the Banana Slugs won two. In the #6 singles match between Nora Rothe of UC Santa Cruz and Kristi Van Diver of Sonoma State, Rothe defeated Van Diver 6-0, 6-4. Two matches – the #2 singles match between Ashley Brudzinski of the Banana Slugs and Jaella Conway of the Warriors and the #5 singles match between Claire Stoner of UC Santa Cruz and Sooni Seul of Dominican – finished with each match have identical 6-0, 6-1 scores. The #2 match was won by Conway and the #5 match was won by Stoner. In the #3 singles match between Vera Smekalina of the Banana Slugs and Cassidy Ferrell of the Warriors, Ferrell defeated Smekalina 6-1, 6-1. In the #4 singles match between Zoe Brook of UC Santa Cruz and Ebone Qualls of Stanislaus State, Qualls defeated Brook 6-3, 6-2. The tightest singles match of the day was the #1 singles match between Sylvia Brummitt of UC Santa Cruz and J'Ana Diamond of Stanislaus State. Diamond defeated Brummitt 7-5, 6-3.

The Warriors won two doubles matches while the Banana Slugs won one. Two matches - the #1 doubles match between Smekalina and Stoner of UC Santa Cruz and Conway and Ferell of Stanislaus State and the #2 doubles match between Brook and Brudzinski of the Banana Slugs and Diamond and Qualls of the Warriors – finished with the Warriors' representative winning 8-0. The tightest doubles match was the #3 doubles match between Brummitt and Rothe of UC Santa Cruz and Seul and Van Diver of Stanislaus State. Brummitt and Rothe defeated Seul and Van Diver 8-6.
