SAN RAFAEL- UCSC outscored Dominican 14-2 to open the second half - and the game "was history from there on out" said UCSC Coach Mark Henry. "We sort of put our foot down."

It was a game UCSC nearly let get away. UCSC was up 31-18 in the first half, but allowed Dominican to make an 18-2 run and take a 36-33 lead.

UCSC was led by 32 points from John Saintignon, the top scorer in the NCAA (all divisions included) with a 29.0 average. Teammate Sandro Meallet scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
