Mike Statzula is a recent graduate from Point Loma Nazarene University where he earned his B.A. in Exercise and Sport Science, and M.S. in Athletic Training. During his time as an athletic training student he worked at the University of San Diego with the Men’s Soccer and Women’s Basketball teams. Mike also spent a summer working in Major League Rugby with the San Diego Legion and in his final rotation before completing grad school Mike spent a year at UC San Diego working with the Triton Men’s Basketball team. It was here that he spent time learning more about how to incorporate science and data into his rehab and return to play protocols. Mike is also certified by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) as well as studying to become a NSCA certified strength and conditioning coach.
Mike is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico where he played baseball and basketball growing up. In his time away from the clinic he enjoys playing disc golf, listening to music, and playing video games with his friends.
