Mike Napoli rejoins the Banana Slugs as a volunteer assistant in 2024.
He previously served as UCSC's head coach of men's tennis from 2015-2018 and interim head coach in 2023, where he guided UC Santa Cruz to the NCAA Tournament and earned Coast-To-Coast Conference Coach of the Year.
In Fall 2023, Napoli was an assistant coach for the UC Santa Cruz women's tennis team. He served as an assistant coach at Colby College in Maine from 2019-2020.

Coach Napoli played collegiately for top-ten nationally ranked Div.II Chico State and played professionally in ATP events in the 1970s and 1980s.

As an assistant at Cal Poly SLO, he won a Division II National Championship and was there as the Mustangs moved to Division I. He was previously the head women's coach at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, winning 13 Western States Conference titles during his tenure and was inducted into the California Coaches Hall of Fame.
He was coach of both the men's and women's teams at Ave Maria University in Florida, and was an assistant for the men's teams at William and Mary and Florida Gulf Coast.

A USPTA Tennis Professional since 1978, Coach Napoli also has been Director of Tennis and GM at world-class resorts and Country Clubs in Hawaii, Nevada, Texas, Indiana and Florida.  He is USPTA certified in wheelchair Tennis and participates at Harvard University Wheelchair clinics.
