RIVERSIDE, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz women's cross country team ran their way to a 16th place finish with 397 points at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning. The Banana Slugs averaged at 21:40 with three runners earning top 100 finishes. Notably,
Kenzie Seymour led the pack while
Elena Stanciu moved into 4th all time at UCSC while
Ronni Strzynski put down the fastest time by a UCSC first year in program history.
In The Results
Kenzie Seymour led the charge for UC Santa Cruz in Saturday morning's 6k Invite, finishing in 45th overall with a time of 21:14.5, moving from 60th at the 2k split into 45th by the end of the race.
Elena Stanciu followed closely behind, crossing the line in 21:17.7 to take 50th, jumping 11 spots from the 4k mark to the finish line.
Ronni Strzynski was the next Banana Slug to cross the line, turning in a time of 21:33.8, moving from 135th at the 2k mark to 75th at the finish line. The trio of
Fiona Wolf (22:05.5),
Helena Janku (22:07.2), and
Cheryl Chuang (22:08.4) were the next three to cross the line, all finishing just strides away from one another, taking 128th, 130th, and 134th, respectively.
Jordan Robinson rounded out the top seven with a 138th place finish in 22:10.3 with
Ryanne Reynolds and
Lucia Muthu finishing the 6k in 22:11.8 and 22:22.7 to take 140th and 157th overall.
