Men's Cross Country Takes 10th at UC Riverside Invitational

RIVERSIDE, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's cross country took 10th place at the UC Riverside Invitational, finishing with 276 points and an average time of 24:51. The Banana Slugs saw three runners earn top 75 finishes with Luke Holland leading the way in 16th place. While Holland led the charge, Camden Jaureguy moved into sixth all time in program history with a strong performance on the day.  
 
In The Results
Luke Holland picked up right where he left off, standing as the top UCSC performer with a 16th place finish, crossing the line in 24:10.3, starting the race near the lead pack and moving up from 29th to 16th by the end of the race. Notably, Holland's time is the fastest time a UCSC runner has ever run on the UCR course. Camden Jaureguy was the next Banana Slug to cross the line, taking 36th overall with a time of 24:30.6, running a smooth race from start to finish. Graeme Maclean took 73rd overall with UCSC's third sub 25 minute performance, crossing the line in 24:58.5. Andrew Mysliwiec, Michael Lennox, and Diego Vizcarra were the next three to cross the line, taking 102nd, 107th, and 109th, running 25:15.3, 25:18.1, and 25:18.8. Gilbert Fillat rounded out the top seven with a 25:26.9 to take 122nd overall. UC Santa Cruz also saw strong showings from Sasha Tanasychuk, Desi Herrerias, and Caeden Gardner as the trio ran 25:42.3, 25:42.6, and 25:44.2 to take 148th, 149th, and 156th.
