SANTA CRUZ, Ca. – The UC Santa Cruz men's team earned a 4-1 victory over the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen in their 2025 home opener on Saturday afternoon. The Slugs earned victories in four out of six singles while doubles were uncontested. UC Santa Cruz will be on the road in Minnesota on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 as they travel to Macalester, Carleton, and Gustavus Adolphus for their next three matches.
How It Happened
The Banana Slugs earned victories in No. 2. No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6 singles to seal their 4-1 victory with CLU picking up a win at No. 1 singles.
Andrew Tjoa won his match 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 2 with
Hari Raghavan winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3.
Benjamin Wang took his match 7-6 (6), 6-0 with
Rocco Melendez earning a 6-0, 4-6, 7-5 victory at No. 6 to cap off the 4-1 win.
