SANTA CRUZ, Ca. - The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's swim and dive teams faced off against San Jose State University and the University of the Pacific in a competitive tri-meet. The Banana Slugs had notable performances throughout, with multiple athletes placing in the top rankings across the events.
 
Men's Team Highlights
    - 200 Medley Relay: The UCSC 'A' team (Asher Kates, Karsten Hsiao, Andrew Koika, and Kyle Reitan) finished in second with a time of 1:35.11.
    - 1000 Freestyle: JJ Stoen led UCSC, placing third at 10:18.92. Ido Haiby followed closely in fourth at 10:31.59.
    - 200 Freestyle: Massimo Reyna finished in second at 1:42.21.
    - 100 Backstroke: Asher Kates took third, clocking 52.45 seconds.
    - 100 Breaststroke: Connor Bruton placed fifth with a time of 1:01.76.
    - 200 Butterfly: Jude Robinson led UCSC with a time of 1:58.28 for third place, while Sam Caplan finished fourth at 1:59.08.
    - 50 Freestyle: Kyle Reitan took first place with a time of 20.93 seconds.
    - 100 Freestyle: Andrew Koika earned second place with a time of 47.77 seconds.
    - 500 Freestyle: Sam Caplan claimed third place with a time of 4:54.93.
    - 100 Butterfly: Kyle Reitan finished second in 51.16 seconds, followed by Morgan Madril in third with 52.13 seconds.
    - 3m Diving: Charlie Shortt led UCSC, earning first place with 180.60 points, while Trevor Masters placed second with 148.35 points.
    - 200 IM: Asher Kates secured the win in 1:55.70.
 
Women's Team Highlights
    - 200 Medley Relay: UCSC's 'A' team (Maddy Gruender, Lily Wolfinger, Fiona Lei, and Phoebe Jaggers) secured fifth place with a time of 1:51.33.
    - 1000 Freestyle: Piper Stickler swam to sixth place at 11:10.12.
    - 200 Freestyle: Katy Hawk placed second at 1:55.38, while Honour Dufresne finished fifth at 2:01.10.
    - 100 Backstroke: Phoebe Jaggers led UCSC with a fifth-place finish, clocking 1:00.50.
    - 100 Breaststroke: Lily Wolfinger took fifth with a time of 1:08.78.
    - 200 Butterfly: Kirsten Boyle earned fourth place at 2:14.02.
    - 50 Freestyle: Tereza Shea and Keaton Canaday finished in ninth and tenth, respectively, with 25.16 and 25.20 seconds.
    - 100 Freestyle: Katy Hawk finished fifth, clocking 1:00.47.
    - 200 Breaststroke: Kirsten Boyle and Lily Wolfinger placed fourth and fifth, with 2:28.62 and 2:28.99, respectively.
    - 3m Diving: Briseis Valenzuela claimed first place with a score of 216.75 points.
    - 400 Freestyle Relay: The UCSC 'A' team (Phoebe Jaggers, Maddy Gruender, Katy Hawk, and Keaton Canaday) finished third at 3:37.03.
