UC Santa Cruz Men's Volleyball team defeated Holy Names University on Wednesday in four games 13-25, 25-7, 25-16 and 25-22.

Sophomore Middle Blocker Will Klepac led the Slugs with 13 kills. Junior Outside Hitter Mauro Salinas was second with 12 kills. Senior Opposite Hitter Shane Yablonka and Junior Outside Hitter Kyle Whillhite contributed 10 kills. Senior Setter Paul Leon had 30 assists.

It was a dogfight from the very beginning. The Slugs struggled the first game. The HNU Hawks put up 3 aces in game one. The Slugs were able to block their way out of it! The Slugs had a total of 16 blocks for the match.

The Slugs play their next match Friday night in Stockton, CA against University of the Pacific. The match is set to start at 7:00 PM.
