UC Santa Cruz Women's Volleyball team wins their match against West Coast Baptist! The Slugs won in three sets 25-18, 25-8, 25-7.

Junior Middle Blocker Helen Milne led the slugs with 9 kills (0.818 pct). Junior Middle Blockers Ginger Berryman and Helen Milne each totaled 4 solo blocks. Junior Setter Melissa Stoll contributed 31 assists on the match.

The Slugs controlled the momentum of the game from the very first point. With impressive blocking, the Slugs pressured the opponents into multiple unforced hitting errors. Coupled with a great hitting performance out of the middle, UCSC proved too strong for their opponents and took the match with little resistance.

The Slugs look to take revenge against their next opponent Holy Names University at home. In their last encounter, they were narrowly edged out in five sets. The match is scheduled to be played at UCSC on Friday Sept. 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

The Slugs also travel this weekend to San Rafael, CA in a rematch against opponent Dominican University. The match is scheduled for Saturday Oct. 1, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
