OAKLAND, CA—UC Santa Cruz Men's Volleyball team defeated Holy Names University on Friday night at the Hawks' home gym, winning in three games, 31-29, 30-25, 34-32. This victory would mark the last regular season match for the Slugs.
Senior Justin Lam led the Slugs with 13 kills. Senior Setter Eric Rowell put up 43 assists for the match.
Holy Names came out swinging in support of their graduating seniors. The Slugs played strong and levelheaded volleyball. Game 3 came down to the wire. A clutch block by Sophomore Thomas Davidson would help close out the match.
The Slugs are waiting to hear about the schedule for the national championship. The championship is going to be held at Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin on April 16th and 17th.
