Slugs to Face #10 in Nation
SANTA CRUZ, CA -- After an upset by Lewis & Clark College (2-0-1) on Sunday, the Slugs left for their second of three L.A. trips to face Cal Lutheran. Taking just 9 shots in the game, Lauren Philibosian was able to setup Michelle Sharman for the games only goal at the 33-minute mark. This was the second loss for Cal Lu (0-2-0) as the Lancers were unable to finish on their 17 shots on goal, UCSC goalkeeper Katie Loomis was credited with saving 6 of those 17 shots. UCSC's record now moves up to 3-2-1.
Today the Slugs packed up their gear for a long road trip up to Oregon, first stopping in Salem where the Slugs will face Willamette (#10 in Nation, #2 in West Region), one of the toughest teams on this year's schedule. The Slugs will then have a day of rest and drive up to Portland where they will compete against Linfield College (0-2-1). With 2 wins already coming from road games, the Slugs look to build on their momentum from Monday's win with them to Oregon.
UCSC's next home game is Thursday September 23rd at 2pm where they will be defending their home field against Dominican College -- Come out and support your Lady Slugs!!
