On September 10th and 11th, the UCSC women's golf team participated in the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic, hosted by Texas Lutheran University. The team played hard the first day, posting four scores in the seventies. With an overall team score of 310 on the first day, the slugs were in the second place position behind University of Texas Brownsville, a Division II college, by 3 strokes. The second day of the tournament, the UCSC golf team dug deep and came from behind for the win by 11 strokes, again posting four impressive scores in the seventies. In second place was UMHB, followed by UTB in third. Four of the five travelling team members placed in the top 10 as individuals, marking an excellent win for the slugs. Yukari Shichishima and Alice Trisri each earned awards for placing second and fourth, respectively, as individuals while Charlene Dahlstrom and Emily Stephens had the fifth and sixth place scores. Good luck to the lady slugs as they begin their season with a hard-earned win!
