UC Santa Cruz women honored with Team Academic Award by United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY - UC Santa Cruz's women's soccer team continues to excel on and off the field.

The team was awarded a Team Academic Award  by the United Soccer Coaches for outstanding academic performance during the 2018-19 school year.

To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their student-athletes to be eligible.

Last year, forward Amelia Streiffer won the department's Women's Slug Academic Award with the highest cumulative GPA among all student-athletes.

It is the tenth time overall UCSC has received the award, and fourth time in past six seasons. Only Cal-Berkeley has garnered more awards in the UC system.
