Five Banana Slugs named Academic All-Conference

RICHARDSON, TEXAS-  Five Banana Slug golfers were named to the American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference team as announced on Wednesday.

Kylie Edwards (Chemistry), Sean Hong (Electrical Engineering), Victoria Morales (Human Bio), Maia Dupuis (Computer Science) and Sarah Shi (Economics) were chosen for their academic excellence during the season. In addition, Shi was named to the ASC's Distinguished Scholar Team.

"My team surprises me at every turn of the road! They are amazing in so many ways," said head coach Paulette Pera.

For Dupuis, it's the second-straight spring she made the ASC honor roll. Five selections ties the most in a year UCSC has earned since they joined the league in 2013-14.

Student-athletes selected to the conference All-Academic team must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive quarters) prior to the season at their institution.
