Stephenson, Murphy, Kowack named to AD3I First team

OVERLAND PARK, KS - Three UC Santa Cruz players were named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) First Team for 2018-19 in a vote by the Association.

Katilin Stephenson, a senior forward from Palmdale, made the First Team after making the Second team last season. She averaged 6.3 points, 7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks a game.

Freshmen Kaylee Murphy (Eureka, CA) and Ashley Kowack (San Diego) were also named to the First team.

Murphy led AD3I in rebounds with 10.9 a game, the only woman to average a double-double in the Association and set a school single-season record with 240 boards. Kowack led the team in scoring at 17.0, second best in AD3I and set a school-record with 72 made three-pointers.

In addition, Kowack was named the Association's Rookie of the Year.

Forward Jenna Sparks was named to the Second Team for the second-straight year after finishing in the school Top ten for career rebounds and blocks.
