The farewells were fond and the scoring was frequent.
UC Santa Cruz honored their departing senior class with a 64-41 win over short-handed Westcliff on Saturday.
The Banana Slugs finish the year 14-10.
The game was the last time in a Banana Slug uniform for Jenna Sparks, Katilin Stephenson, Katherine Mauldin, Brianne Ulloa and Suhansi Perera
The theme of the game was the camaraderie the departing players felt.
"We all just wanted to have fun tonight," said Stephenson who finished with a team-high 10 points, seven rebounds and a block. "They're not just my teammates, they are my best friends on and off the court, so I'm so happy I got to finish out with them."
"They are a bunch of amazing players and even better people," added Perera, who also scored 10. "I was really lucky and blessed to play on the same team."
Ulloa finished with a career-high 9 points going 3-5 from three-pointers. Freshman Ashley Kowack had 9 points to become the first freshman in UCSC history to finish with over 400 points her debut season. Fellow freshman Kaylee Murphy added team-highs of 13 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals.
After a 5-0 UCSC start, Westcliff tied it at 7 late in the first quarter. UCSC then went on a 19-3 run the final 12:48 of the first half and held Westcliff to just one made field goal for a 26-10 lead at the break.
UCSC pushed the lead to 47-24 by the end of the third and led by as much as 31 late in the fourth.
Overall the Banana Slugs had 14 steals and outshot the Warriors from the field 31.3% (26-83) to 27.1% (16-59).
Simone Hall scored 11 to lead Westcliff, while Patty Tidwell added 10 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.
