NCAA TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: UC Santa Cruz vs. Carthage

KENOSHA,WI. - The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs open the 2019 NCAA Volleyball Tournament when they play Carthage College at Tarble Arena today at 2:00pm Pacific time.

The Banana Slugs (18-16) enter on a six-game winning streak. All-America candidate Raymond Cascio is hitting .318 on the season with a team-high 3.76 kills/set, totaling a school-record 470 kills this season entering the match. Fellow senior Justin Fortner is hitting .342 with 0.90 blocks/set. Kyle Donohoe has a team-high 214 digs. 

The Red Men (23-2) own a 8-5 series lead over UCSC since 2011. The teams played February 9th this year in Kenosha with Carthage coming back for a 3-2 win.

They are led by Eric Winter,who averages 2.48 kills/set while hitting .388. Parker Connolly averages 2.44 kills/set and has a .372 hitting percentage.
