ROME, GA - Senior Chad Le Duff finished second nationally at the ITA Championships.
Second-seeded Le Duff fell to fourth seed Boris Sorkin of Tufts 6-2, 4-6, 2-6 in the Oracle Cup final Saturday morning.
It was Sorkin's second-straight three-set rally after he beat top-seeded Jonathan Jemison of Emory in Friday's semifinals.
Le Duff was aiming to be the first UCSC ITA national Champion since Matt Seeberger turned the feat in 2006. Le Duff started the year 5-0 without dropping a set at the West Regionals in Claremont. Once in Georgia, he advanced to the final in similar fashion, sweeping Joshua Bode of Concordia (TX) in the quarters and Hobart's Alan Dubrovsky in the semifinals.
"Chad rose to new heights this Fall in winning the Regional ITA and then on as a National Finalist," said head coach Mike Napoli.
