SPOKANE – The Banana Slugs wrapped up their three-match road trip with a 1-0 win over Whitworth University in Spokane.

In the first half, both teams had six shots apiece.  The final chance for the Banana Slugs came with 2:07 left in the half but Itay Rabinovich's shot went high. In the second half, the Banana Slugs would strike early. Kailas Dhond scored off a long pass from Rabinovich 2:23 after the restart to give the Banana Slugs a 1-0 lead.

The Pirates' offense would pressure the UCSC defense, but the Banana Slugs did not allow a shot on goal in the second half to hold on for their second win of the year. Dhond and Rory Monninger had two shots apiece to lead the Banana Slugs.

The Banana Slugs return home for their next match as they take Pacific Lutheran University on Friday at 4:30 pm as part of the Slugfest Tournament.
