UCSC's Sea Lions ended their Northern California Men's College Soccer Conference season with a 3-1 victory over College of Notre Dame Tuesday afternoon. UCSC finished third in conference, behind Menlo College and Sonoma State, both of whom tied for first place.
UCSC was 8-2-2 in conference and 8-6-4 overall. UCSC scored its first goal in the opening half on a shot by Matt Ridgeway, with an assist from Eric Fredell.
Notre Dame tied it with a goal later in the first half. However, UCSC scored twice in the second half to win the game. UCSC's second goal was by Mike Collins, with Rich Ellis providing an assist. The Sea Lions' final goal was by Jeff Maurer, with an assist by Fredell. UCSC was led on defense by Mark Teague, a freshman.
All-conference selections for UCSC were Fredell, Maurer and Ridgeway, while teammate Peyton Tattersfield was honorable mention.
