COMPLIANCE AND RECRUITING OVERVIEW
University of California, Santa Cruz is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA, the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC), American Southwest Conference (ASC), and the Association for Division III Independents (AD3I). Compliance with the bylaws of all organizations is an essential part of the day-to-day operations of UCSC Athletics. UCSC coaches, staff members, student-athletes, and boosters are expected to act in accordance with NCAA rules at all times. The UCSC Athletics Office of Compliance serves to provide education regarding these rules, and to monitor and document the department's compliance.
If any member of the UCSC community has questions regarding NCAA rules or their application, he/she should feel free to contact the Office of Compliance to request clarification. In the event that a member of the UCSC community believes that NCAA rules have been violated, they are encouraged to contact the Office of Compliance to report the facts as soon as possible. Coaches, staff members, and student-athletes are obligated under NCAA Bylaw 10.1 to report all potential NCAA violations to the department in a timely fashion.
Education for Boosters is provided both on this website and through direct communication. Anyone who may be a booster (e.g. donors, alumni, parents of student-athletes, etc.) is encouraged to review the booster education materials on this site, and to contact the Office of Compliance with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our student-athletes eligible as they work to maintain and enhance UC Santa Cruz's championship legacy.
