UCSC vs. Menlo College

SANTA CRUZ, CA --Tuesday’s match at UC Santa Cruz brought the visitors from Menlo College.  Coming into the match UCSC remained undefeated with a record of 7-0-1, and Menlo College, an NAIA school, came with a record of 0-6.

Much of the game was played in the Menlo College defensive end.  It was the Slugs scored first in the 19th minute from a laser by Daniel Seltzer on a pass from Fernando Otero.  This was the junior Seltzer’s 3rd goal of the season thus far.  At the half the score remained 1-0 in the Slugs favor, but it wasn’t until the 83rd minute that senior Tim Degrasse scored a volley off of junior Matt Fondy’s cross.  This goal gave Degrasse his second goal of the season.  The final score was 2-0, but the shots favored the Slugs quite a bit at 32-1.  UCSC looks forward to their next game at home on Sunday the 27th of September when they will face La Sierra College.
