2008 Spring Schedule Released

Santa Cruz, CA -- Head men's soccer coach, Dan Chamberlain released the UC Santa Cruz men's soccer 2008 spring non-traditional schedule. The Slugs coming off another successful season which saw them post a 15-5 record, make their fifth consecutive NCAA Playoff appearance and post a record five players on the NSCAA All-Region team. After graduating 9 team members in 2007, the 2008 Slugs are returning a core group of young players who are excited and eager to prove themselves this spring. (more)

Chamberlain Announces UC Santa Cruz Nike Elite Camp Dates

Santa Cruz, CA -- UC Santa Cruz men's soccer coach Dan Chamberlain announced the dates for the Summer Nike Elite Camp. The camp for boys ages 14-18 will take place June 26-29 on the beautiful UC Santa Cruz campus. The cost is $545 for residential participants and $445 for commuters. (more)

Chamberlain Releases Dates for the 2nd Annual Adidas 6-A-Side Tournaments

UC Santa Cruz men's soccer coach Dan Chamberlain has announced the dates for the 2nd Annual UC Santa Cruz - Adidas 6-A-Side Tournaments. The "Open" tournament for adult teams will take place on May 17th, while the "Youth" tournament for U10, U12 and U14 teams will take place on May 24th. The cost is $250 per team if registrations are received before April 1st, and $300 per team if registrations are received after April 1st. (more)

Adam Smarte Taken as 1^st Pick in MLS Supplemental Draft

SAN JOSE, CA -- With the first overall pick in the MLS Supplemental Draft the San Jose Earthquakes drafted, UC Santa Cruz standout Adam Smarte. Smarte becomes the fourth player in UC Santa Cruz history to play in the MLS, joining Steve Wondolowski (Huston Dynamo), David Frank (Huston Dynamo) and Aaron Lanes (San Jose Earthquakes, Huston Dynamo). Smarte is the first UC Santa Cruz player to be drafted. (more)

Former Slug Wondolowski Wins MLS Cup With Houston Dynamo

Former Slug standout Steve Wondolowski became the second UC Santa Cruz Alumni to win an MLS Cup Championship in as many years. Steve joins 2004 Alum, Aaron Lanes, not only as the second UC Santa Cruz player in the MLS, but also the second to earn an MLS Championship ring. (more)
