Katy Sanfilippo earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training at San Diego State University in 2013. Upon graduating SDSU, she worked as a physical therapy aide at Longevity Physical Therapy while working as an Athletic Trainer for Point Loma High School. When applying to graduate programs, she worked as a personal trainer at UFC gym, provided athletic training services to the San Francisco Olympic Rugby Team, and assisted with West Valley College’s sports medicine team. In August 2016, she earned her Masters of Science degree at Auburn University. Her work at Auburn included performing research for the university and providing healthcare services to Army recruits and cadre at Fort Benning, GA.
Katy is TRX and group exercise certified. Away from work, you can find her rock climbing, running half marathons, weight lifting, taking photographs, or eating frozen yogurt complete with gummy bears.
