    UCSC Women's Volleyball Finishes The Week 2-1 After losing in 3 straight to NCAA Division II CSU Monterey Bay earlier in the season, the Slugs battled in front of a packed home crowd on Tuesday, October 2nd and played an exciting match against the Otters. Losing the first game by only 3 points (27-30), the Slugs fought hard and took game 2 (30-25) only to lose 2 more close games again by a mere 3 points (27-30, 27-30).

    Slug Volleyball Finishes 2-1 For The Week The East Field House gym was packed with fans sitting on the floor surrounding the court to watch the first home game for UCSC Women’s Volleyball against cross-town opponent, Bethany College on Wednesday, September 26th. The Slugs played very consistent and had four hitters with double digit kills for the match.

    A Tough Weekend For Slug Volleyball It was a tough week for the UCSC Women’s Volleyball team against some tough competition. First the Slugs had to battle against NCAA Division II CSU Monterey Bay on Wednesday night. After a close first game, the Slugs couldn’t pull off a win and lost in 3 straight (27-30, 24-30, 20-30). A valiant effort by Senior Outside Hitter Nicole Payne who had 9 kills and 12 digs for the match.

    Slug Volleyball Takes Down Whittier And Redlands The UCSC Women’s Volleyball Team traveled to the Claremont Colleges this weekend to compete in the Pacific Coast Classic Tournament. First up was North Central, a very solid team from Illinois, who defeated the Slugs in 3 (27-30, 24-30, 23-30). Leading the team was Junior Outside Hitter Megan Wisniewski who racked up 10 kills and 4 blocks.

    Women's Volleyball Off To A Great Start They defeated Eastern Oregon University in 3 straight games (30-27, 30-23, 30-18) led by Senior Outside Hitter Gillian McGraw who tallied 15 kills, 11 digs and 5 blocks. Senior Outside Hitter Nicole Payne also racked up double digit stats with 10 kills, 14 digs, 2 aces and 1 block. Junior Libero Melinda Tom also contributed with 30 digs for the match.
