UC Santa Cruz storms past Mills 10-0 to close regular season.

SANTA CRUZ, CA- Claire Lim, Alex Arce and Joelle Steichen each scored two goals as UC Santa Cruz beat fellow Independent Mills College 10-0 in the season finale for both teams.

UCSC improves to 6-10-1 while Mills finished 2-10-1.

The hosts got on board in the 8th minute when Lim got on the end of a Cayce Shaw pass. Lim then assisted Kacie Ring in the 18th minute to make it 2-0.

A quick barrage came over a ten-minute span. Shaw made it 3-0 off of Alex Arce's assist in the 25th minute. Steichen then scored her first two goals of the year in the 27th and 30th minutes, pushing the lead to 5-0.

Sandra Parhami scored in the 43rd minute to give UCSC a 6-0 lead at the break.

It took 11 minutes after the reset for UCSC to add onto the lead as Megan Carey scored to make it 7-0. It was her eighth goal of the year and 23rd in a Slug uniform, moving her into a three-way tie for fifth in school history.

Arce and Lim added goals in the 73rd and 80th minute respectively to push the score to 9-0. The Slugs reached double figures with 2:38 left as Arce curved in a corner kick into the net.

The Slugs outshot the Cyclones 47-2 on the afternoon, including 21-1 in shots on goals. Mills keeper Madison Cantrell finished with 11 saves on the day.
