Women's Golf finishes sixth at American Southwest championships

GLEN ROSE, TEXAS – UC Santa Cruz women's golf team finished their season with a sixth place showing at the 21st annual American Southwest Conference meet.

UC Santa Cruz finished with a team total of 1047 after improving by ten strokes Sunday from their round two score.

Mara Anunciacion was the leading Banana Slug with a three-round total of 251, 35 over par, good enough for 14th place.

The freshman from Stockton lowered her score progressively each day, from 89 to 83 to a final round 79.

Claire Oetinger finished tied for 16th with a three-day total of 252 (36 over) and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Kylie Edwards shot an 87 her final round to finish tied for 26th with a 47- over-263.

Jessica Salazar finished 35th with a total of 274 (58 over) and Sarah Shi finished 37th after shooting her best round of the tournament on Sunday. She shot an 89 for a total of 277(61 over).

Mary Hardin Baylor repeated as team champions with a three-day total of 953. Olivia Robinson of Mary Hardin Baylor shot a 72 on Sunday to win the individual title with 224 strokes, six better than second-place Madyson Milliorn of Concordia.
