    Slugs Romp On Senior Night The Slugs ran off to an early 33-9 lead and coasted to an easy 62-43 victory over an overmatched but gritty UC Merced Bobcats. Behind 17 points from the long range shooting of Danielle Mofsowitz and 23 post points from Sarah Mackey (12) and Alison Scarbrough (11), the Slugs dominated the game from start to finish before a full house on Senior night.

    William Jessup Halts UCSC Win Streak In a game plagued with errors by both teams, the William Jessup Warriors produced one sustained run late in the 2nd half and slipped past UC Santa Cruz 56-46 in Rocklin. Going into the game, the Slugs built a five game win streak on the strength of good shooting, tough defense and strong rebounding. On Friday night, the Warriors outshot the Slugs 52% to 38%, won the turnover battle 29-25 and nearly out rebounded the Slugs.

    Slugs Cruise Past Pioneers The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs ran their win streak to five games with a 73-42 win over the Pacific Union Pioneers behind sharp three point shooting, dominant inside play and stifling team defense. The Slugs rained 3’s on the Pioneers throughout the game as six different players scored from beyond the arc lead by Ortiz (9pts) and Mofsowitz (13pts) with three each.
