SANTA CRUZ (1-23) – UC Santa Cruz took on NCAA Division I member CSU Bakersfield and NCAA Division II member Fresno Pacific University in their first match at home of the 2016 calendar year.
In the third time in as many events, the Banana Slugs had competitors finish in the top ten in all sixteen events. Individually, Cameron Braun had the best finish of the day for the Banana Slugs as he finished third in the 50-yard freestyle event.
The women's team had participants finish in the top ten in fifteen events that took place. Individually, Kiara Calayag had the best finish of the day for the Banana Slugs as she won the 100-yard backstroke.
The next trip to the pool for the Banana Slugs will be February 12th-16th as they take part in the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference Championships. The event will take place at East Los Angeles Community College in Monterey Park, California.
