LONG BEACH, CALI – After a week off, UCSC swimmers again swept the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference (PCSC) Swimmers of the Week. Today, the PCSC announced the selection of Tyler Andree and Allison Dominguez after strong performances in a dual meet with NCAA Division I opponent Cal Poly.
Andree, a sophomore, had a great day in the pool as he returned to his home town of San Luis Obispo. Andree finished the 1000 free in 10:09.99 which was a season best. He also finished the 400 IM in 4:17.60. This was Andree's second selection as PCSC Swimmer of the Week this year.
Dominguez, a junior majoring in Human Biology, was not to be outdone by her teammate as she also posted a season best in the 1000 free with a time of 11:46.08. In the 100 Back, Dominguez also had a strong showing in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.52.
"We had some strong individual results this weekend against Cal Poly" said head coach Kim Musch. "Both Tyler and Allison had season bests in their events which is what you want to see this time of year. They are peaking at the right time as we get ready for the PCSC Championships."
The Slugs will be back in the pool this Saturday for their last meet before the PCSC Championships as they host Fresno Pacific and CSU Bakersfield in a tri-meet.
