Men's soccer falls at Redlands 3-0

REDLANDS -  Two early goals by the hosts set the tone as UC Santa Cruz fell 3-0 at Redlands Friday night.

UC Santa Cruz had their three-game winning streak end and fell to 4-7, while Redlands went to 8-3.

The hosts struck for goals in the 8th and 12th minute, both by Kayvon Parsa, to quickly go up 2-0. The Banana Slugs tried to work their way back and got off a pair of shots in the 15th minute. However Ari Statler's attempt was blocked, and the rebound from James Allison went wide.

UCSC's best chance came in the 58th minute, but Dominique Royall had his free-kick saved. Parsa completed his hattrick two minutes later from 12 yards for the final score. Redlands almost added a fourth tally in the 86th minute but Paetin Nelson sent it high from 18 yards.
Gerald Delorie had 3 saves in goal for UCSC. The Banana Slugs now have a quick turnaround as they play in the other end of the state on Sunday afternoon at Division II Chico State.
