From USL Communications

Asked on Wednesday night what it meant to become the USL’s single-season goal scoring record holder, Louisville City FC forward Matt Fondy was almost lost for words.
“There’s a thousand people I could thank,” Fondy told reporters. “It feels great. No words.”
Fondy’s third hat trick of the season, and second against the Harrisburg City Islanders, pushed him into the lead for the 2015 USL Golden Boot with 21 goals, ahead of OKC Energy FC’s Danni König and past Orlando City SC’s Kevin Molino’s total of 20 from 2014. The standout striker scored all three goals in the first half as Louisville had a home finale to remember in front of 7,702 fans, as the side also clinched a place in the USL Playoffs.
One of the club’s first signings back in January, Fondy has blossomed in his second stint in the USL. Formerly a member of Orange County Blues FC, before a year-long stint in MLS, Fondy has provided the consistent scoring threat James O’Connor believed he would bring to the side.
