KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Wednesday, Sept. 23 that UCSC men's soccer team earned the Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.
The Slugs were one of 867 soccer teams (307 men, 558 women) to earn the NSCAA Academic Award with an overall GPA of 3.30. This was the second consecutive year that the men were recognized for the honor.
The NSCAA Team Academic Award is given to those teams that exemplify a strong commitment to academics, recognizing teams with an overall grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher during the 2014-2015 academic year. The award is a reflection of the strong emphasis that the team places on academics in their role as student-athletes.
