Men’s Soccer Match vs. Southwestern University Rained Out

As the Beatles sang in 1966, 'If the rain comes, the rain comes'. The rain has come and come and come to the state of Texas. The rain has fallen so hard across Texas that it has impacted the Banana Slugs' schedule.

The match between UC Santa Cruz and Southwestern University was stopped with 22 minutes remaining in the match due to heavy rains accumulating on the field. Within a few minutes, both coaches agreed that the field was no longer playable with the utmost concern being player safety. The match did not reach the 70th minute of play and, by NCAA rules, the match cannot count as official.

The Banana Slugs will have their final match of the season on Monday as they take on NAIA member Menlo College at Lower East Field. Match time is set for 2 pm.
