FOR LEWIS, WA -- The U.C. Santa Cruz men's soccer team covers a lot of ground for a bunch of banana slugs. Half-way through a seven game road trip that takes them as far south as Claremont and as far north as Tacoma, Washington, the Slugs took a chance on Pho Lewis, a Vietnamese restaurant in Fort Lewis, Washington (pictured above).
The team's willingness to try new things led them there and, after finding themselves so taken
with it, went a second time two days later, about twenty-four hours following an exhilarating
overtime sudden-death victory over the University of Puget Sound.
The Slugs next match-up comes against Pacific Lutheran University, when they will aim to push
their win streak to three games and their overall season record to 3-1-1.
