OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--- The 2012 All-Independent Men's Soccer teams were announced today by the Association of Division III Independents. 

Offensive Player of the Year

Colby Twist, Nebraska Wesleyan University, JR, Forward, Omaha, Neb. – Twist, who also was the AD3I offensive player of the year last year, scored 14 goals and assisted on three more.

Defensive Player of the Year

Joshua MacKinnon, University of Maine-Presque Isle, SR, Goalkeeper, Lismore, Nova Scotia (CAN) – An all-around outstanding goalkeeper who allowed 2.7 goals per game and was an outstanding senior leader.

Rookie of the Year

Will Pasquin, Finlandia University, FR, Midfielder, Clawson, Mich. – Scored nine goals, including two game-winners, in 16 games.  

Coach of the Year

Sean Steele, Nebraska Wesleyan University.

The All-Independent Men's Soccer teams were selected by the men's soccer coaches from the Association of Division III Independents member schools.

The Association of Division III Independents consists of 10 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The Association provides statistical services for its members in seven sports. In addition, it will announce All-Independent teams at the conclusion of eight other sports this year.
